Linux and particularly Linux Mint does not have a hibernate option as standard. Here is how to enable it.
For Linux Mint version 22, follow these instructions to enable hibernate.
The hibernate enabling instructions in the Linux Mint Forums for Linux Mint 19 still work fantastically all the way up through Version 21 and on an obscure Linux box made by Geekom (IT12).
This is particularly useful on a non-battery system like a mini-PC.
