About

  • This website is a collection of my notes. I made it because I can.

Sometimes, I do something technical and wade through the articles and information on the internet to figure out how to do it. Later, the chances are high that I will want to do that something again and so I put it here.

  • As the internet becomes more and more spammy and tracky and narcissistic, and as the Google Ad economy encourages more and more websites to scrape, coalesce, and claw their way to the top of the search-engine hierarchy, it becomes tiring to wade through the made-up answers, wrong answers, and just plain flashing lights.

Do we really need to track your wish do know how to add a user to a group in Linux?

Do we really need to serve you ads for dog food when you want to know how to install Tinc on your set of computers?

  • This website has no Google or Facebook tag trackers.

It doesn't include or reference .css or .js files from Facebook or Apple.

It simply provides a slim curated set of information, and usually tells the credits of where that information came from.

If it serves you a cookie, have it with some milk.

  • This website makes heavy use of YAML to express HTML, CSS, database queries, and more.
  • The underlying platform is YAD7, a successor to Drupal 7 using the UK-Flex theme.

Y provides most of the plug-ins functionality. There are no Views, Ctools, or their ilk on this site.
